BOTANY - Profile

The Department of Botany at our college has been flourishing since its establishment in 1983, initiating the B.Sc (BZC) program. Currently, we proudly offer the B.Sc (Honours) with Botany as a single major course, welcoming 40 students annually to delve deeper into the realm of plant sciences.

Our dedicated faculty, consisting of one regular member, strives for excellence in botanical education. The department has fostered valuable collaborations through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with SML Degree College, Yemmiganur, and STSN Degree College, Kadiri.

Studying botany unveils a comprehensive understanding of plant sciences, encompassing structure, growth, development, reproduction, life cycles, medicinal values, and the economic significance of plant resources. The recent strides in molecular-level exploration have brought about revolutionary changes, with a particular focus on addressing climate change, a popular and vital area of study.

A profound knowledge of plant science equips students to contribute to solving environmental challenges. Moreover, it opens doors to extensive opportunities for higher studies and research, along with promising career prospects in both the public and private sectors for graduates with a B.Sc degree in Botany. Join us on this botanical journey, where learning extends beyond the classroom into a world of possibilities.
